Before and after gif. A visual comparison of the original, unedited photo and the finished changes I’ve made to color, blemishes, and/ or distracting elements. Showcasing my ability to retouch and color adjust. Personally, I prefer to edit people with a lighter hand, but can adjust according to client expectations.
In this comparison gif, you can see I’ve bumped up the color as the daylight and reflected light washes the color out of the background and her natural skin tone (and I added some lipstick). I’ve also fixed the headband as the sample had been damaged slightly. I was asked to remove the shadow cast on her chest as the art director felt it was distracting.
This shows the final image for the following gif - which illustrates the editing process. there was only one sample of this earring available so I was asked to duplicate it to show a pair. The sample had been through a bit of a beating at trade shows, so i had to fix it up a bit and take out the distracting reflections and reflected color of the studio it was photographed in. I’ve also added a realistic cast shadow.
I was asked to lighten and create more drama to this image as it was used for a web banner and printed on Trade Show assets.
The untouched image on the left and the cleaned up image on the right. If you zoom in, you will see the left side is covered in hair and lint. As the customer would be able to zoom very closely, I was asked to go in with laser focus to remove all lint and any chips from the product.
I was asked to retouch and color correct the product, then add different colors to the background to be used for web banners and email blasts.
This shows the washed out photo on the left and the bumped up color with color correction to the product on the right. The art director wanted the photo to be brighter, with deeper color. This was used as a lifestyle shot in a product image package and for social media.
