I went to the UK last year and took about 2,000 photos. I fell head over heels with the food, the views, the history, and the people. I would move there in a heartbeat if I could! I’ve been sporadically selecting and editing in between work, personal projects and an online course I’m currently taking. Most of the photos will be posted to my Instagram!
Portrait /
I enjoy painting portraits. It’s a practice that allows me to paint on autopilot and de-stress. It also serves to keep my art muscle working, which any artist will tell you: Practice is of utmost importance. I’m guilty of not drawing for myself for months at a time, so I am trying to paint whatever I just feel like each week (not everything is a masterpiece, so of course I won’t post all of my scribblings!). I’ve been meaning to give drawing threads on reddit a try, and have been saving all sorts of photos for reference to draw when I have time.
I found the original photograph on r/redditgetsdrawn but so much time had gone by that I couldn’t find the original poster to send this finished portrait to.
More Oahu... /
Still sharing older photos I’ve taken while hiking or wandering Oahu. I’ve taken countless pictures of flowers. I really should get myself a macro lens. I’ve noticed a tendency to zoom in so that the resulting image is nearly abstract.
Never leave home without a camera! /
I am definitely not a photographer by trade, but I do enjoy taking a camera along with me when I hike or travel. I have a modest Cannon Rebel TI5. Nothing fancy, but it serves my purpose of capturing scenery, colors, and texture that catch my eye while wandering. Here are a few images I took a few years ago while hiking around Oahu, my home island.
